The Crane Lake
Challenge
March
6, 2010
One of the highlights of the winter
snowmobiling season up here in Crane Lake, Minnesota is the race
formerly known as the Hyper-Viper. Voyagaire Lodge hosts the great
Crane Lake Challenge the first Saturday in March each year and
hundreds of snowmobile racers and enthusiasts turn out to join in the
fun.
Make plans to be here! Racing begins at 10 am and racers
can register on-site from 8 am to 3 pm. Four runs cost $30.00
including a $5.00 donation to the American Cancer Society. Anyone can
race as there are
over 45 different classes of ATVs and snowmobiles, including kids
categories and one-lunger shootouts. See the race results below
for details of 2010.
The race track is 1000 feet of shaved ice right on beautiful Crane
Lake. Timing lights are used and trophies are awarded for 1st,
2nd, and 3rd place in each class. There is a cash purse for the
top speed of the day and random cash drawings for all racers during the
awards ceremony that evening at Voyagaire Lodge.
This is a fun event for the whole
family. Voyagaire Lodge offers great lunch and dinner specials
both in the restaurant and down on the ice. For a complete
description of all the services available at Voyagaire Lodge (including
lodging, snowmobile rental, full bar, ATM, gas, etc.) visit our main
website at www.voyagaire.com.
If you have any race questions, or would like to reserve a hotel room
for the weekend, please call Voyagaire at 800.882.6287. There are
